Air Force to hear public on far louder planes in Homestead

The public will get a chance to weigh in on the results of a comprehensive Air Force study to determine the environmental impact of locating a squadron of 24 top-of-the-line F35-A combat aircraft at Homestead Air Reserve Base – including the increase in noise pollution – during a hearing March 3 on Miami Dade College’s Homestead Campus.
Air Force spokespersons have said that at 1,000 feet, the human ear would perceive F-35s as nearly four times louder than the F-16s they would replace.
