Steven Klein: Guides Gerson Preston to keep leveraging new technology

Steven Klein is a seasoned accountant and community-driven leader, serving as managing partner of Miami-based accounting and advisory firm Gerson, Preston, Klein, Lips, Eisenberg & Gelber P.A. (Gerson Preston). With a career spanning over three decades, Mr. Klein has guided the firm through generational transitions, heading a team responsible for the firm’s governance, finances, service delivery, recruitment and growth strategy. 

Founded in 1959, Gerson Preston has deep roots in the South Florida business community, serving as an advisor for more than six decades. Dedicated to the firm’s core principles, Mr. Klein guarantees top-tier service by fostering a collective of forward-thinking CPAs and financial advisors. 

Mr. Klein’s career is defined by his emphasis on mentorship, collaboration and strategy. He specializes in financial audits, business consulting, mergers, acquisitions, and tax compliance. His global expertise, gained through involvement in international accounting and law networks, helps the firm meet diverse needs. He also leads the firm’s Assurance & Accounting Services practice, overseeing financial reporting, audits, attestation and advisory services.

Mr. Klein takes pride in helping his clients build thriving businesses, many of which reflect Miami’s entrepreneurial and global economy, including sectors like real estate development, professional services, technology, international business and investments, retail and hospitality. He remains committed to cultivating a workplace culture that emphasizes inclusivity, professional development and collaboration. 

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Mr. Klein plays an active role in the community. He is a board member of the Diabetes Research Institute and co-chairs its annual “Out of the Kitchen” Celebrity Chef Gala fundraising dinner, which is considered one of the organization’s most successful events. 

He is a member of the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and represents the firm at the Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami. A devoted educator, he has led presentations and served as an instructor for CPA Exam Preparation and Continuing Professional Education courses.
