Miami-Dade advances annexations by four communities over resident opposition

Four municipalities have received the county commission’s first approval to annex unincorporated areas, as residents massively opposed the annexation applications, arguing of property tax spikes of over $6,000 per year.
Commissioners heard complaints and discussed the annexations for over two hours last week.
