Marc A Berenfeld Seeks To Return Gables Chamber To Its Roots By Focusing As Chair On Value Of Relationships Networking
During tough economic times, membership in a chamber of commerce can seem like a luxury — but it’s not, says Marc Berenfeld, new chairman of the Coral Gables Chamber.
A chamber is a resource for cultivating new business relationships, and its programs often offer insight into the business climate. "The chamber should not be a luxury; it should be an integral part of your business plan," he says. As chair, he plans to bring the chamber back to its roots, concentrating on networking and relationships.
At his accounting practice, founded by his father in 1971, Mr. Berenfeld heads the audit services department. The firm has grown from a staff of eight when he joined in 1987 to more than 225. He was interviewed in his Coral Gables accounting office by Miami Today staff writer Risa Polansky. This is an excerpt from the weekly profile article published in Miami Today.
