Alfredo J. Gonzalez: Attorney leads rising Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce

In October, Alfredo J. Gonzalez started a two-year term as chairman of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and is helping the chamber lead more driven, sustainable economic growth and prosperity for the greater Miami Beach business community.

Through leadership, networking, advocacy, and philanthropic initiatives, Mr. Gonzalez said he plans to expand the chamber’s Education Fund, continue to connect the public and private sectors, and build on the renaissance Miami Beach has been experiencing in recent years.

Mr. Gonzalez is a shareholder in the Miami land use practice at global law firm Greenberg Traurig and has served as a member of the Miami Beach Chamber’s executive board of governors for nearly two decades. He previously served as chair-elect from 2024 to 2025 and as vice-chair from 2013-2016 and 2021-2024. He also served from 2019 to 2021 as co-chair of the chamber’s Education Foundation, which identifies and supports the needs of public education in Miami Beach Senior High School and its feeder schools.

In his private practice, Mr. Gonzalez represents real estate developers in securing governmental approvals for residential and commercial projects in Miami Beach and other communities throughout Miami-Dade County.

In addition, he represents clients in matters related to government contracts, as well as code and building violations and legislative initiatives. With more than three decades in land use, government, and environmental law, he works closely with clients to bring complex and challenging real estate development projects to fruition.

“Miami Beach is such a unique place that even my small contribution to the city’s future is immensely rewarding and valuable to me. I’ve been involved in many organizations over the years to give back for all the benefits and enjoyment I’ve experienced living in Miami Beach. I want to ensure that the city becomes an even better place for future generations,” Mr. Gonzalez said. “I’m fortunate to be surrounded by supportive colleagues and to work for a firm that strongly encourages community service.”

Mr. Gonzalez spoke with Miami Today reporter Abraham Galvan.

This week’s profile will appear in next year’s Book of Leaders.
