Brittnie Bassant: New president of Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce

Brittnie Bassant is a devoted leader in the nonprofit and business communities. Having begun her journey with a passion for serving the community, she has since honed her skills working for organizations like the Everglades Foundation, Deering Estate Foundation and for a local county commissioner.

In 2017, ChamberSOUTH approached her with an opportunity to make an impact and combine the fields she loved, government, non-profit and business. During her six-year tenure as president and executive director, Ms. Bassant helped the chamber develop the business landscapes of South Miami, Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, Cutler Bay and Kendall. Under her leadership, the chamber’s membership reached an all-time high and event attendance grew. Notably, this success was achieved during the unprecedented times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In September, Ms. Bassant joined the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce as president and CEO. She plans to continue using her experience in the non-profit, government and business worlds to enrich the city and make a positive impact on the communities she serves.

Ms. Bassant spoke with Miami Today reporter Genevieve Bowen.

This week’s profile will appear in next year’s Book of Leaders.

Miami Today publishes a Book of Leaders every year. This book is a compilation of all The Achievers profiled in every edition.

The information in this book is available nowhere else – the stories of the women and men who are shaping the development of Greater Miami.
