Yolanda Cash Jackson: New chair of Beacon Council has a priority of inclusion

Yolanda Cash Jackson decided she would go to law school after she got passed over for a promotion. Over 30 years after obtaining her JD, she is an experienced government law attorney with a reputation for leadership and commitment to civic and community activities.

Her numerous recognitions include the Urban League of Broward County, honoree for the Margaret Roach Humanitarian Award, 2022; National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division, Outstanding Minority Partner/Majority Firm Award nominee, 2021; and Top Lobbyist, National Institute of Lobbying & Ethics, 2020.

Ms. Cash Jackson was elected 2022-2023 chair of the Beacon Council, in charge of steering the county’s economic development. Throughout the year, her priorities target inclusion, doing the best work she can to promote Miami-Dade as a location to do business, and making sure she won’t be the last black woman to serve as chair of the council.

Ms. Cash Jackson spoke with Miami Today reporter Gabriela Henriquez Stoikow.
