Roberto Muñoz: Veteran banker ends term leading chamber of commerce

Roberto Muñoz has more than 40 years of experience as a financial expert and in leadership roles across Miami-Dade County. He is finishing his 2022-2023 fiscal year appointment as chairman of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, which was founded in 1907 as the Miami Board of Trade. He is the president and CEO of The Global Financial Group, where he specializes in wealth management for high-net worth individuals and wealth management for small to medium-sized companies.

In addition, Mr. Muñoz has headed multiple civic organizations such as the South Florida Council South Florida’s Boy Scouts of America, the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, the Florida International Bankers Association, and the World Trade Center Miami, to name a few.

He said he looks forward to continuing his work in the community, working with groups, organizations, and local governments to help Miami stay as a top-of-the-list destination for the years to come.

Mr. Muñoz was recently inducted into the Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ 2023 Alumni Hall of Fame and received the 2023 Public Schools Alumni Achievement Award from the county’s Education Fund. He is also in the Alumni Hall of Fame of Miami Dade College, Florida International University, and Miami Springs Senior High School.

Some of the civic groups he has supported include the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of South Florida, the Miami Zoo Foundation, and the Chapman Partnership for the Homeless.

“Ethics is the key to success,” said Mr. Muñoz. “I’m going to continue giving back to the community.”
