Marco Giron: Plans new county incentive strategy to lure in filmmakers
Marco Giron started in the entertainment industry over 15 years ago, working with Disney and Universal Records prior to entering public administration. He has also served as a director and legislative advisor for the cities of Miami and Doral.
Now, as the Chief of Film and Entertainment for Miami-Dade County, he oversees governmental interactions with about 200 production companies; numerous sound stages and recording studios; three Spanish-language production facilities; and many businesses supportive of the motion picture, TV, video, digital and still photography industries.
“We are currently having record-breaking film productions in Miami-Dade. Our numbers for direct local spend, job creation and hotel stay have surpassed years past,” he said.
Mr. Giron spoke with Miami Today reporter Gabriela Henriquez Stoikow.
