Alexander Adams: Northern Trust regional president for wealth management

Alexander Adams, president of the South Florida Region for the wealth management business of Northern Trust, has been working in banking since a very young age and developed an appreciation for what banks do in the community, and how they help individuals and companies grow. 

“I just took a liking to it from a very early age, and I’ve been fortunate to have worked with a lot of great people in the industry over the years,” Mr. Adams said. After 27 years with Northern Trust, he says he feels very fortunate to have teamed up with the company and to have the opportunity to learn from a lot of great mentors at the bank over the years.

As president of the South Florida Region for the wealth management business, based in Miami, he is responsible for overseeing the offices in South Florida, over 120 employees, and serving high net worth clients and families. 

With a market that is still experiencing the effects of the pandemic, many things have changed for Mr. Adams. Regular days are hard to define, as he is still working in a hybrid environment where some clients prefer to meet remotely and others want to meet in person. 

“It’s really hard to say what a typical day looks like at the moment, but I do look forward to going back to a more normalized situation in the near future, where we would be in the office more frequently,” he said. But regardless of the situation, Mr. Adams and Northern Trust continue meeting their clients, visiting their businesses and adapting to the fast-changing needs.
