After working in Regions Bank’s Birmingham, AL, headquarters where he oversaw sales service in 1,800 branches throughout 16 states, West Indies native Steve Nivet has made it back to Florida to head the South Florida region.

He previously worked in the Tampa market and is now looking to grow the number of households and businesses that bank with Regions here.

With trillionaire banks like Chase and Wells Fargo recently entering this market, he said Regions will rely on its one-on-one relationships to grow.

Meanwhile, he also must fill the shoes of predecessor Angel Medina in the realm of community involvement.

Mr. Nivet said one of his passions is becoming involved with the community in which he works, but he’s waiting to see exactly which organizations he’ll donate time to to ensure he can have the greatest impact.

He was interviewed in Regions Bank’s offices just off Miracle Mile by Miami Today Staff Writer Zachary S. Fagenson. To read this profile article in its entirety, subscribe to Miami Today’s E-paper.
