One-fifth of county’s 2024 contracts faced no competitors

Winners of one of every five contracts that Miami-Dade County OK’d last year faced no competition for the work or sale, a new report to county commissioners shows.
That’s more than $420 million in non-competitive deals. The value of the 80% of 2023 contracts that were competitive totaled almost $4.3 billion, the report said. In all, 243 contracts were awarded last year, of which 49 had no competition for the money.
