City of Miami officials launched the city’s revamped website, officially making the switchover to www.miamigov.com. The new website focuses on customers, residents and visitors, providing better and greater access to city-wide information and services.

“The launch of our new miamigov.com is another milestone for the City of Miami as we continue to bring government services to our residents in a transparent and innovative way by making our website easier to navigate,” said City Manager Emilio Gonzalez in a press statement.

“I applaud the work of our Director of Innovation and Technology Mike Sarasti and his team who has transformed the experience our residents will have when they visit our new website,” he said.

The new miamigov.com features a user-friendly and service-driven interface that is optimized for viewing on both mobile and desktop devices.

During the development of the new website, more than 100 new service pages were formatted as a step-by-step service process. There were also several hundred new informational pages created that house city initiatives, news items, department pages and location information, among others.

The design includes a new feature referred to as 24/7 City Hall where new, digitized forms allow residents to make requests from the comfort of their home, day or night, rather than coming in-person.

“I’m very proud of our city team and a long list of partners for their commitment to iterative design, user testing, and process improvement,” said Mr. Sarasti. “The result is a re-imagined presence for the City of Miami that puts residents and businesses first.”

Content that currently exists on www.miamigov.com will continue to exist in a new area of the site called archive.miamigov.com.
