Miami looks to remediate Coconut Grove contamination sites

Two non-profits in Coconut Grove are set to receive nearly $4 million to add to the neighborhood’s affordable housing stock and educational resources.

This week, the Miami City Commission is considering two initiatives to award $3.5 million to the Thelma Gibson Health Initiative and just under $400,000 to the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. If approved, the monies will fuel development of low-cost rental units on Grand Avenue and expanded classroom space, after-school and summer programming.
