Miami funding to subsidize low-income car buyers

Ten low-income workers in the north part of the city may be able to buy cars and insurance for below a fourth of their value in a program funded by the City of Miami geared to enhance mobility and job opportunities.

Today (1/11), the Miami City Commission is to discuss allocating $300,000 to Wheels to Work, an initiative of the non-profit Martin Luther King Economic Development Corp., which has served Liberty City, Model City and Brownsville since 1975.
