Miami-Dade jobless figures rise. but so do some job gains

Miami-Dade unemployment rose in June, though several job categories registered large percentages increases in active workers year over year, newly released figures from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics show.
The county’s percentage of unemployed workers rose to 7.1% from 6.7% in May. This was a major improvement year over year, as unemployment in June 2020 was 10.1% in the county. At the peak of the pandemic’s jobs losses, 15.1% of Miami-Dade workers were unemployed in July 2020, the bureau’s figures show.
