Knight Foundation probes where universities invest their assets

The Knight Foundation has published a study on diversity in asset management in higher education, but universities’ involvement was low, with only 16 of the 50 schools invited actually participating. With the data that was provided, the study found that all 16 institutions invest more than 5% of their US based assets with diverse firms.
The Miami-based Knight Foundation invests in journalism, the arts and community by doing research regarding democracy and the media. The goal of the diverse asset management study was to encourage mission-focused endowments to be transparent about their investments and encourage them to use diverse owned assets.
