County pumps $45 million into truck fuel system it rejected

Miami-Dade commissioners agreed Tuesday to spend $45.76 million on diesel garbage trucks and asked Deputy Mayor Alina Hudak to come back in a year for an update on the contract.
Daniella Levine Cava said this is a purchase of regular diesel garbage trucks. “Every possible way to find hybrid trucks was made,” she said. “I sympathize with the (department of solid waste management’s) predicament.
