C’MON OVER: Miami-Dade County commissioners last week voted unanimously to ask Mayor Daniella Levine Cava to “take all appropriate action” to bring the Organization of American States headquarters to Miami-Dade County from Washington. “Does the OAS want to move here?” Commissioner Oliver Gilbert III asked Raquel Regalado, who made the motion. “We’re not going to kidnap them or anything?” Replied Commissioner Regalado, “Why not us?” Noting the rapidly swirling winds of change last week in Washington, she said of the 76-year-old economic development organization, “I just want to say that we’re interested.”

PICKETING FEES, LIMITS: Picketing and demonstrations at Miami International Airport would require an advance permit and a fee if more than 25 persons were involved, would be banned from sidewalks near airport doors and be limited to locations established by the airport director under legislation that Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera brought before Miami-Dade County commissioners last week. The measure passed 7-5 on a first reading, which is normally followed by a public committee hearing and then a final commission vote to take effect. His legislation says that as the airport is a non-public forum “Miami-Dade County has greater discretion in limiting the time, place, and manner of speech activities” there. In the past, his legislation says, marches and demonstrations obstructed airport entrances and disturbed passengers. He wrote that fees would pay for added policing needed to control demonstrations and picketing. Those fees, the legislation says, would become part of the schedule of rates, fees and charges that the commission adopts.

AMAZON PICKS WYNWOOD: Amazon is leasing 50,000 square feet of offices at mixed-use Wynwood Plaza, the largest office lease ever in Wynwood, according to a press announcement. The million-square-foot project at 95 NW 29th St. includes the 12-story, 266,000-square-foot offices center that Amazon is to enter after the project is completed early this year. Other office tenants include Claure Group, an investor in the project, which is leasing 25,400 square feet, and law firm Weitz & Luxenberg, which is taking 18,000 square feet.

NEW SURFSIDE CONDOS: Dubai-based DAMAC International on Tuesday announced the launch of a 37-residence project on the site of the 2021 collapse of Champlain Towers South at 8777 Collins Ave. in Surfside. The project, the Delmore, is to be a 12-story condominium of four- and five-bedroom units with prices starting at $15 million per residence.
