Lourdes Boue: Doctors Hospital/West Kendall Baptist’s CEO looks ahead

A distinguished healthcare executive, Lourdes Boue leads two hospitals within Baptist Health’s 12-hospital network: West Kendall and Doctors. Since joining Baptist Health in the ‘90s working in strategic planning, Ms. Boue has built an impactful career spanning more than two decades, marked by her dedication to advancing healthcare services and community well-being.

In 2019, she was named CEO of Baptist Health West Kendall after serving as the vice president of operations responsible for general operations, including the planning, implementation and ongoing evaluation of services. She played a pivotal role in West Kendall’s opening as Miami-Dade County’s first new hospital in 35 years, overseeing the four-story clinical expansion, opened in 2022, which doubled the size of the Emergency Department and brought new services, including a cardiac catheterization lab and interventional radiology suite, to the community.

Ms. Boue was appointed CEO of Baptist Doctors Hospital in November 2023, succeeding Javier Hernandez-Lichtl, who also maintained executive positions with Baptist Health for more than three decades. As she leads Doctors Hospital through its 75th anniversary, which is being commemorated by an art exhibition at Coral Gables Museum titled “A Legacy of Caring,” Ms. Boue continues to expand her influence and vision for both community hospitals, reinforcing her commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality for the diverse populations they serve.
