Kenasha Paul: CEO/Founder of Black Professionals Network looks ahead
As a university student at Florida International University, Kenasha Paul helped transform the Black Student Union into the successful 20,000-member organization it is today. In 2014, she founded a Black Professionals summit that later became the Black Professionals Network, a non-profit organization that provides valuable resources and networking platforms to Black professionals of all backgrounds, and in 2021, FIU and City of Miami Mayor Francis X. Suarez named her director of the FIU-Venture Miami Opportunity Program, serving other startup founders and entrepreneurs to achieve success through exposure, grants and venture capital.
Ms. Paul studied political science with minors in international relations and English at Florida International University, and later law in Nova Southeastern University. She wanted to be a judge, but later realized that what attracted her to some of the skills of being a judge was creating solutions for multiple and competing conflicts.
“I enjoy working on the proactive side of solving problems,” she said.
Her mission now is to connect Black women business owners to the resources and capital they need to grow professionally and become industry leaders in competitive industries, such as technology.
Ms. Paul spoke with Miami Today reporter Monica Correa.
