University of Florida team may dig into Miami-Dade yard waste sales

University of Florida graduate students could soon be picking through Miami-Dade County trash as part of a study to see whether the county should set up a facility to mulch, composted and sell the yard waste it handles.
The county now processes about 1.1 million tons of post-recycled waste and about 121,000 tons of yard waste every year. The $149,663 study could help determine whether the county could or should recycle and market that yard waste.
