Ana-Marie Codina: Codina Partners CEO leading redevelopment of a Sears site
As the CEO of Codina Partners, Ana-Marie Codina has been focused on driving the successful transformation of South Florida’s communities into vital, prosperous centers for living, working, culture, and commerce.
Before becoming CEO, Ms. Codina led the master planning of a suburban office park into the 250-acre, mixed-use development Downtown Doral, which includes more than 5,000 residential units, 250,000 square feet of retail, and more than 1 million square feet of commercial space.
She also led the development and deliveries of Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School, Downtown Doral Charter Upper School, Doral City Hall, a 3-acre park, and the new Doral Cultural Arts Center.
“The unparalleled amenities, educational opportunities, and lifestyles that Downtown Doral offers, and the continued investments we are making in the community are why it has earned the reputation as the ultimate place to live, work, play, and learn in South Florida,” she said.
She also serves on the board of directors of The Knight Foundation, is the founding and current chair of the Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School board, and is past president of the Miami City Ballet’s board of trustees.
Earlier this year, Ms. Codina became the founding co-chair of Partnership For Miami, a group of business leaders seeking to act in the civic interest to build a world-class Miami that works for everyone.
“The central driving principle of the organization is to create a better Miami for everyone. As a global city, Miami has benefited from exponential growth in just the last few years as a result of in-migration, which has sparked concerns regarding the expansion of access to quality education within the city, providing affordable housing, and addressing the clear and pressing need to improve mobility and transportation,” she said. “Partnership For Miami’s primary goal is to shed a light on these issues and offer up potential solutions from the perspective of those within the highest ranks of the private sector.”
Ms. Codina spoke with Miami Today reporter Abraham Galvan.
