The Miami Film Festival screens “The Lambirds,” which tells of 68 Nepalese and Indian students who paid $10,000 to study at an American institution named Lambirds Academy. The school promised the students eight months of education, a work visa and a guaranteed job on a cruise ship. When the students arrived at Lambirds’ campus on the Caribbean isle of St. Lucia, they found nothing but an empty room above a grocery store. 3:30 p.m. Tower Theater, 1508 SW Eighth St., Miami.
