Would-be creators of a city get more time but told to get moving

Miami-Dade lawmakers have again extended the life of a group that for well over a decade has studied incorporating several Northeast county neighborhoods into a new city. But this time they added two conditions: come up with something already, and let others do the same.
Commissioners last week voted 12-1 to give the North Central Municipal Advisory Committee (MAC) another two years to examine incorporating a 12-square-mile area abutting Miami, North Miami, Opa-locka, Hialeah, Miami Shores and El Portal.
