The City of Miami’s Virginia Key Advisory Board has a new leader. Joe Rasco was elected this week by the board as its chairman. He replaces University of Miami professor Greg Bush, who resigned and moved to Maine.

Mr. Rasco is the Intergovernmental Affairs Director for the county. He has more than 25 years of governmental and private sector management experience, including serving as mayor for the Village of Key Biscayne (1998-2002) and village councilman (1991-1994), the interim city manager for the City of Doral (2003-2004), interim city manager for the Village of Palmetto Bay (2002-2003), and positions with Florida Power & Light.
Gary Milano was elected as vice chairman. Mr. Milano represents the Tropical Audubon Society. He worked for 32 years with the county’s department of environmental resources management.
