Vaccine tug-of-war prevents early Norwegian Cruise Line return

Miami-based Norwegian Cruise Line plans to resume its stateside sea-faring operations from Seattle in just over two months in accordance with CDC guidelines. How soon its ships will set sail again from PortMiami remains to be seen, however, as a dispute with Gov. Ron DeSantis over the company’s ability to verify passenger vaccinations remains unsettled.
Norwegian this week named Aug. 7 as the date it will begin week-long voyages from Seattle to Alaska, a top cruise destination, once it gets a conditional sailing certificate from the CDC.
