University of Miami adds internationally oriented business dean

A British-born Harvard Business School professor who has been dean of two international business schools is to become the University of Miami’s business dean on July 1, the university announced Friday.
John Quelch is also a professor at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, of which UM President Julio Frenk was dean before he came to Miami.
Dr. Quelch will replace Professor Anuj Mehrotra, who has been interim business school dean at the UM for the past year.
Dr. Quelch was dean of the London Business School from 1998 to 2001 and was dean of the China Europe International Business School from 2011 to 2013. He has lived in the United Kingdom, the US, Australia, Canada and China.
At the University of Miami, besides serving as business dean Dr. Quelch will be vice provost for executive education, overseeing customized training and development programs for executives and managers.
