Transit team says artery to the north should be rail

Miami-Dade transportation decision-makers on Monday edged closer to choosing rail for the Strategic Miami Area Rapid Transit (SMART) Plan’s North Corridor, one of six arteries eyed for forthcoming mobility upgrades.

The Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) Fiscal Priorities Committee – comprised of School Board Chair Perla Hantman, Medley Mayor Roberto Martell and county commissioners Barbara Jordan, Dennis Moss and Xavier Suarez – were uniform in their recommendation that roughly 13 miles along Northwest 27th Avenue, from south of Northwest 79th Street to the county line at 215th Street, should be developed for elevated rail…To read the full story click here
