Time extension sought for luxury auto track development

The developer behind a luxury auto track and commercial development plan near Miami Gardens has reached terms with three nonprofits for which it agreed to construct new facilities before its own. Now, Miami-Dade must decide whether to approve changes to the developer’s lease that grant it more time to build.
Commissioners Monday punted on voting to amend the county’s lease and development agreement with 13 Pista, the company behind Drivers Club Miami, a more than $100 million project that, upon completion, is to include a two-mile private driving track, club, hotel, retail, dining and other cultural attractions.
