Study probes varying impact of Covid-19 among ethnic groups

Pointing to cases elsewhere in the nation where Covid-19 has disproportionately affected African Americans, Miami-Dade lawmakers have directed the county administration to examine if a disparity exists here.
County commissioners this month unanimously approved a resolution instructing Mayor Carlos Giménez’s office to report by June 29 how many residents have tested positive for the virus, been hospitalized and died, and what the age, gender, race and ethnicity breakdowns were in each category.
