Steep drop trims Miami-Dade’s jobless toll

Miami-Dade unemployment tumbled to 3.8% in October, the lowest since the onset of covid-19 and below even the state’s falling unemployment level, according to figures from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The drop in county unemployment was startling, down nearly two percentage points from 5.7% in September and 6.7% in August. The state as a whole saw jobless rates drop to 4.6% from 4.8% in September and 5% in August.
