Sour notes from virus echo through music world

The impact of the coronavirus on the music world has been dramatic. Not only has it required the cancellation of concerts and classes that had been scheduled while people throughout the United States have been ordered to remain “housebound,” but it is now apparent that it has more far-reaching effects on multiple levels – even if the present requirement that we stay in our homes be removed tomorrow.
Solo pianists whose concert tours had to be cancelled have scheduling problems, not only to reschedule the concert dates but to arrange travel on airlines, which may now have limited seats and schedules. (Not all concert series can reschedule the cancelled concerts for next season.)
