Safe streets nominees revealed

The Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) has released the names of the nominees for the 2019 Safe Streets Awards, an annual awards event held by the TPO, Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization and Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency to honor people and groups that have improved transportation-related life in the tri-county area.
Miami-Dade nominees for the “Complete Streets Champion Award” include Meg Daly, founder and president of Friends of the Underline; Anthony Garcia, principal of the Street Plans Collaborative; Robert Ruano, chairman of Bike Walk Coral Gables; Jason Spiegel, founder of Freebee; and Patrice Gillespie Smith, senior manager of the Miami Downtown Development Authority’s Planning, Design & Transportation Department.
Nominees for Miami-Dade’s “Complete Streets Community Award” include Bike Walk Coral Gables, City of Doral, Freebee, the Street Plans Collaborative and Village of Palmetto Bay.
