High gas prices have long been correlated with increased transit use. So why, with fuel costs at a three-year peak, are Miami-Dade County’s major transit modes in a seeming ridership freefall?
Average gas prices in South Florida last month reached $2.97 per gallon, 60 cents higher than in May 2015, according to US Energy Information Administration data.
