Rezoning 140 Omni sites could add workforce housing

A rezoning of more than 35 acres in the Omni area that would lead to more affordable and workforce housing was to be considered by the City of Miami’s Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board at this week’s meeting.
The City of Miami has requested the rezoning of the area, consisting of 140 addresses, roughly between Northwest 13th and 18th streets and Northwest Miami and Northeast Second avenues, according to documents from the planning department. Near the area is the City of Miami Cemetery, The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and the I-395.
