Record advance placement program tallies 97,000 college credits

Enrollment in Advanced Placement (AP) courses in Miami-Dade Public Schools again set a record, resulting in more than 97,000 college credits earned and $20.6 million in future savings on college tuition costs for parents and students, a new district report shows.
Those figures track with a growing roster of course offerings that now encompasses 38 subjects – from science, math and computing to social studies, literature and foreign languages – and accompanying exams, for which the student passing rate exceeds both Florida and worldwide levels.
