Progress seen in closing Miami-Dade affordable housing gap

Miami is rated the least affordable city in the nation to reside in, sparking what officials call an affordable housing crisis – a problem voiced frequently by local governments and residents for a decade, but with no concrete action. Slowly though, nonprofits, banks, universities and commissioners are acting on the issue and solutions are materializing.
A recent study showed that Miami has the highest housing cost burdens in the country, with Florida being the highest cost-burden state where renters pay more than 30% of their income to their landlords.
