Privately-run Brickell-Beach ferry wins endorsement

A waterborne commuter service run by Poseidon Ferry LLC might ply the waters of Biscayne Bay if the Miami city commission approves a licensing agreement for dock space at the Miami Convention Center/Hyatt Regency Miami and all of the other details fall into place.
Miami River Commission board members voted unanimously Monday to support the licensing agreement between the city and Poseidon Ferry, which would pay $1,875 per month and a small ticket surcharge for the space. The company plans a commuter service, probably a ferry, between the Hyatt Regency and a site just north of the Miami Beach Marina, near the I-395 causeway.
