Parking freebie on Flagler Street downtown
Written by Miami Today on May 23, 2017
Delayed Flagler Street reconstruction downtown has led the Miami Parking Authority to offer a free hour of parking there from Friday, May 26, until reconstruction ends, whenever that may be.
Construction, delayed for years, finally began in January 2016, but progress has been slow and downtowners have complained to city hall.
“We have listened to our customers who have asked us to help out during the period of construction along Flagler Street in downtown Miami,” said Art Noriega, CEO of the Miami Parking Authority.
To get the hour’s free parking, customers need to use PayByPhone but don’t pay the company’s 35-cent fee in the city. If they live in city limits and prove it in advance, they get a 20% discount on all PayByPhone city parking.
