Pandemic hits cultural organizations with $99 million revenue loss

Cultural institutions across Miami-Dade have taken a monetary hit due to the pandemic, and resources from the county as well as cities are being dedicated to helping them hang on.
Cultural institutions across Miami-Dade are reporting $99.5 million in revenue losses since March, Brandi Reddick, Miami Beach’s cultural affairs manager, told the city’s Cultural Affairs Council last week. Some 16,000 jobs at these institutions, she said, have been affected as institutions are forced to lay off and furlough employees to survive.
