Miami vows a better focus on the homeless

Miami officials are trying to help control problems for the city’s homeless by strengthening coordination among key departments and increasing street maintenance.
William Porro of the Department of Human Services provided an overview last week to the city commission. Goals are to improve the coordination, integration and frequency among key departments to improve the cleanliness of Miami’s streets and, meanwhile, try to reduce the overall number of unsheltered homeless.
