Miami tightens historic property designations

Miami has tightened its historic preservation rules, citing property owners’ rights.
Legislation from Commissioner Manolo Reyes has lengthened the period to appeal city properties being considered for historic designation. It also requires a supermajority of the Historic and Environmental Preservation Board to approve proposed designations.
