Miami Parking Authority buying 19 vehicles

The Miami Parking Authority is buying nearly 20 new vehicles for its operations department. The city’s Off-Street Parking Board approved spending $368,212 for 19 vehicles from Don Reid Ford. The quoted price was available to the authority by piggy-backing off a State of Florida Department of Management Services contract, and includes the extended warranty for all vehicles inclusive of a five-year plan with 60,000 miles. Authority CEO Art Noriega told the board the purchase will save the agency money in repairs and maintenance and reduce down time of staff when vehicles are out of service. Authority COO Alejandra Argudin said the vehicles being replaced are 7 to 9 years old, and were traded in as part of the new purchase.
