Miami OK’s going after Hurricane Irma reimbursements

The Miami City Commission on May 24 approved the submissions by the city manager, finance director, budget director, designated city departments, and all other designated city officials of all requests for Hurricane Irma cost reimbursements from the US Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management. The resolution establishes a new special revenue project called “Hurricane Irma Federally Funded Sub Awards and Grants Fiscal Year 2017-2018,” appropriating funds for the reimbursement of city funds advanced and expended in connection with Hurricane Irma, currently estimated at $34,193,228.
