Miami-Dade may spend unbudgeted $45 million to deal with Covid-19

Miami-Dade has spent $10.8 million on unbudgeted expenses to support county services and community needs related to Covid-19. When all is said and done, those unplanned costs will likely “approach $45 million,” Mayor Carlos Giménez said.
The county has “diligently recorded” every expenditure so far to ensure it receives maximum federal and state reimbursements, which will be vital, he said, as lost county government revenue “could top $170.2 million over this fiscal year and next.”
