Miami-Dade may lift affordable housing price ceiling to boost supply

The maximum sale prices of homes in affordable housing programs could rise if Miami-Dade commissioners approve an ordinance they plan to discuss today (7/8). It would increase the top sale price developers can put on properties, create a new methodology for revising it, and suggest removing the maximum purchase price for homes under the Homebuyer Loan Program.

The ordinance includes all county affordable housing programs, such as the Homebuyer Loan Program, Infill Housing Program, and the down payment assistance program. The item is proposed by commissioners Eileen Higgins, Jean Monestime, and Danielle Cohen Higgins.
