Miami-Dade hedges bets with parallel paths to cross-bay transit

Miami-Dade is using “two paralleled paths” to hedge its bets on a new transit link between Miami and Miami Beach, a move Transportation Director Alice Bravo says will help ensure that the long-planned project formerly called Baylink will finally happen.
The first path, she explained to local transportation decision-makers Monday, is the traditional process: a planning, development and environmental study, followed by a recommendation and selection of a locally preferred alternative.
