Miami-Dade giving schools funds in coronavirus battle

Miami-Dade public schools will get a $15 million funding bump to cover coronavirus-related safety expenses ranging from additional on-site nurses and contact tracing to laptops for students attending classes remotely.
County commissioners approved the funding apportion from the county’s cut of Cares Act dollars through a resolution by Esteban Bovo Jr., which Dennis Moss co-sponsored.
