Miami Beach studies menu of alcohol rollback concoctions

Miami Beach is evaluating restrictions and exemptions to include in a citywide 2 a.m. alcohol sales rollback, with the most likely option to vote in early February to exempt most hotels, and some restaurants and nightclubs that meet noise and performance standards.

The city commission discussed termination of sales and consumption of alcohol during a special meeting Jan. 12 after 56.52% of voters in a Nov. 2 straw ballot said they would support shifting the current 5 a.m. last call to 2 a.m., with “specific locations and related restrictions and exemptions, to be determined by City Commission by ordinance.”
